I am looking at the latest WebSphere Liberty Profile 8.5.5.7 full platform and I have tried to deploy my existing ear with no luck. In the server.xml
I have added:
<featureManager>
<feature>javaee-7.0</feature>
</featureManager>
But in the ffdc log I get:
Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/xml/rpc/ServiceException
and my ear isn't loaded.One of my beans have an import of javax.xml.rpc.ServiceException
As far as I know ServiceException
is part of the Java EE 7 spec.
The full exception in ffdc log is:
------Start of DE processing------ = [10/29/15 15:32:11:134 CET]

Any idea how to solve this?
WebSphere Liberty profile doesn't support JAX-RPC, but JAX-WS or JAX-RS. You will have to migrate your web services to JAX-WS. JAX-RPC was already deprecated in Java EE 6, and it is optional in Java EE 7. See Java EE 7 Technologies.
JAX-RPC is still supported by the WebSphere Application Server Full (aka Classic) profile.
