The script if from https://pastebin.com/fbkheaRb that was given in the documentation.
I am trying to place a buy order but i am getting urllib2.HTTPError: HTTP Error 422:
I am unable to solve the problem, I believe there is some semantic error in the buy parameters. I could not find any relevant documentation regarding the same.

Solution

  • first import requests library

    import requests

    and then replace:

    ret = urllib2.urlopen(urllib2.Request('https://poloniex.com/tradingApi', post_data, headers))
    jsonRet = json.loads(ret.read())

    by:

    ret = requests.post('https://poloniex.com/tradingApi', data=req, headers=headers)
    jsonRet = json.loads(ret.text)
