I am using Apache Spark with Groovy successfully, however I have no luck using groovysh
as an interactive spark shell.

I'm looking for a way to fix the error above and understand how the groovysh
environment differs from regular groovy script execution.
Fortunately the new Spark 2.3.0 release no longer has this problem:
