Git push failing HTTP 500 curl 22 The requested URL returned error: 500 Internal Server Error

I have just setup git with bit bucket for my windows machine.

Git pull works properly, where as git push fails with below error.

$ git push

Total 10 (delta 6), reused 0 (delta 0)
error: RPC failed; HTTP 500 curl 22 The requested URL returned error: 500 Internal Server Error
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly
Everything up-to-date

Any help is of great use.

Solution

  • Increase the global Git buffer size to the largest individual file size:

    git config --global http.postBuffer 157286400

    Or just for your repo:

    cd your_repo
git config http.postBuffer 157286400
