I have a Rails 6 API only application that uses Devise and Devise-JWT for authentication. I have followed the instructions in the repository and the result is that the tokens are dispatched on sign in but they are not revoked on sign out.

Would I need to override the session controller's destroy action method to manually add the token to the jwt_blacklists
table? Or should this happen on it's own like I had expected?
Update & Answer
From reading the gem docs and whatever else I could find, my code looked fine so I did a hack/workaround to revoke the tokens instead.
I sent the Authorization header in the login request, then ran a method to get the jti and exp from the token. I had to also convert the exp to a timestamp, then I wrote an SQL query to save it to the database. Once that method was done, I deleted the Authorization header before running the super
method of Devise's sessions#destroy
so that there would be no errors. The result is a 200 HTTP response and the token gets blacklisted. I know it's a bit hack-y but nothing else seemed to work. See my code below:
