Why am I getting error in WebSecurityConfig?

I am using Spring Boot 3.0.4. The error I am getting is related to Spring Security:

Parameter 0 of method filterChain in com.company.tree.auth.WebSecurityConfig required a bean of type 'org.springframework.security.config.annotation.web.builders.HttpSecurity' that could not be found

My POM file is

I have referenced stackoverflow possible duplicate and many more but they are using Spring Boot 2.0 or something old. Similarly I also used @EnableWebSecurity as well as @EnableAutoConfiguration but it was of no use at all. I have checked all my dependencies and found nothing wrong. This code worked flawlessly before adding Spring Cloud dependencies.

Solution

  • Spring Cloud 2022.0.1 (aka "Kilburn" release train) is not compatible with Spring Boot 3.0.4.It depends on Spring Boot 3.0.3 or lower, and more critically, brings in older Spring Security classes/configs that can break context initialization.

In my case i downgraded to <version>3.0.3</version
