CLion 2025.2.1 Terminal Tool Window Can't Display New Terminal

I'm using CLion 2025.2.1 on macOS 15.

My terminal tool window is not launching the new terminal (with features like command completion and highlighting) that JetBrains has released. My current terminal engine is set to "reworked 2025," but the issue persists.

I've tried both bash and zsh, and the result is the same.

What I've tried:

• Updating CLion to the latest version.
• Switching my shell between bash and zsh.
• Changing the terminal engine to Classic, then switching it back to Reworked 2025.

I was hoping to be able to use the new terminal tool, just like in the 2024 versions of CLion. The terminal window should show the new interface and allow me to enter commands.

You probably mean the New Terminal engine, which was announced in early 2024.

If so, it was deprecated a while ago and replaced with Reworked. New Terminal remains an option, but it's not displayed by default.

To re-enable it:

• From the Actions panel, trigger Registry....
• Look for terminal.new.ui.option.visible and check the box.
• Open the Terminal Engine dropdown again, then select Experimental 2024 (deprecated).

For the record, there are plans to bring completion popups to Reworked.
