I've recently noticed a seemingly hidden feature in IntelliJ IDEA:
If you go to File -> Recent Projects... Manage Projects... you will get a list of projects to open. In that list, the branch name appears only if two projects in the list have the same project name.
Or, more specifically, the branch that was checked out the last time the project was closed.
I would like to always have this feature turned on, even for projects that do not happen to have the same name as other projects. Anyone know how to accomplish this?
Version: IntelliJ IDEA 2025.1.3 (Community Edition)
Tried to find a setting for branch name in idea but this doesn't seem to be documented. Is there some hidden flag I can turn on?
Found it, this is solved via an Advanced Setting in version 2025.2 (not released yet)
