PayPal redirect param ignored

We redirect users to pay with PayPal using a form which sends a POST request to https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr endpoint.

We pass a "return" parameter, which contains an url, where the user should be redirected on success.

Starting from July, 3 - seems this parameter is ignored, and users are not redirected to the url passed in the "return" parameter.

Any ideas?

Since today, return parameter works again. So, it seems that PayPal fixed this issue on their side.

Solution

  • Yeah I'm using a 'Return URL' configured on a button, and since 5th July (maybe earlier), after payment has been made and the customer hit's 'Return to Seller', it error's with 'PayPal We're sorry, it seems that something went wrong'.

I've just enabled 'Auto Return' and in the sandbox it appears to bounce back to my site correctly again. Just waiting to see about real transactions...
